We landed at Porto airport at about half past five p.m. and Prof. Carlos Santos, the Headmaster of Daniel Faria Secondary School, Baltar, host school for the final meeting of the first year of the Comenius project, was kindly waiting for us. We were heartily welcomed and accommodated in the "Residencial Novo Espaço" in Valongo, a nice village 20 minutes far from Porto, together with the colleagues of the other partner schools:
On Saturday morning at ten we were at Daniel Faria School in order to evaluate the first year's project. All the partners shared their own experience showing various Cds of the educational material each school produced. We had lunch at school with some Portuguese food in the teachers room. In the afternoon we visited some open air school equipment, then continued our job of sharing experiences and started writing the final report. At 7.30 p.m. we had a very good dinner in a typical Portuguese restaurant. Then we attended the Daniel Faria students’ performance for end of the school term, which was full of creativity and very involving.
On Sunday morning at 10.00 a.m. we were already writing our final report and we continued until 5.30 p.m. After a visit at the medieval monastery of S. Pedro de Cête, we went to Tormes to dine at a typical medieval restaurant in an ethnological museum which was an old farm completely restored but without electricity or running water. The whole atmosphere was very suggestive and the museum was very interesting.
On Monday morning we visited Porto borderline, its beaches and its typical streets. After a good lunch at "The Beer Cellars" our host invited us at an interesting cruise on the river Douro along the docks of Porto. After the cruise we visited the Ferreira Porto cellars and museum.
On Tuesday 22nd May at 12.05 we were going to fly back to Cagliari where we arrived at about 9.30 p.m.
